The Vision

Stunt Gymnastics is a coed program. As a gymnastic discipline all students train skills
that develop strength and flexibility. The training develops individual characteristics for the
body, soul and spirit:

Multi-Generational Learning

The gymnasium was also the place of academics in Greek history

Ancient gymnastics began in Greece. The word "gymnastics" means "naked art". The Greeks believed in a "sound mind in a sound body". The Greek gymnasium was also the academy for learning. The Academy was originally a grove near Athens which contained a gymnasium. Plato delivered his lectures there, and the school where he taught came to be called the Academy. Aristotle taught at the Academy as well as Plato, and may have expected to take over its running.

Even in modern gymnastics which began in the 19th century, the gymnasium was a community center meant for more than just gymnastics. The Germans spread out through Europe, the USA and the world with their Turnveriens and the Swedes brought their Sokols. This made a significant impact on an Christian Englishman, Sir George Williams, so much so that he founded an Christian version that he called the YMCA. Regrettably, even though the YMCA claims to be a Christian organization, they no longer are in truth, and are not just a corporation.

It is the dream of the Stunt Gym to create another truly Christian community organization around stunt gymnastics. Living in a real community means interacting with people of all generations. In times past children learned with older children in the one room school houses. But this has rapidly become a lost social skill of our American society today. The government schools segregate kids into peers which undermines the influence of mature role models and promotes "gang mentalities". In times past families lived under one roof with grandparents, parents and children all interacting. Even relatives lived close by. But due to transportation and technology we have become a mobile people separated from family members, often by thousands of miles. In times past congregations all gathered together and studied the Bible together, but even in the Church today, generations are separated in an unbiblical manner. Stunt gymnastics bridges that gap and restores multi-generational interaction as teens work with grammar age kids. And since parents are free, they area also encouraged to stunt with their children which builds a bond between parents and children through physical touch.
