The Vision

Stunt Gymnastics is a coed program. As a gymnastic discipline all students train skills
that develop strength and flexibility. The training develops individual characteristics for the
body, soul and spirit:

Home Schooling

Over the last 15 years I have had the privilege to work with a variety of children in gymnastics training that were home schooled. Without exception everyone of them had more confidence in learning gymnastics.

Gymnastics training is more mental and emotional than just physical. Without doubt, they must become physically strong and flexible. But learning skills is impeded by one factor more than any other: fear.

There are two kinds of fear. A natural fear is God given for the sake of self preservation. It is caution and being careful. Panic and terror is an un-natural fear. This fear cause a loss of self control. This is the fear that hinders learning and causes injuries. It is notable that the English word, "panic," means from Pan. Pan was a Greek god that was half goat and half man, which they called satyrs. He played a flute and was believed to live in dark canyons. The Greeks believed that when an overwhelming fear would come upon them while traveling through those dark canyons, that Pan would come upon them to create that fear, hence a panic attack. The implication is clear: un-natural fear is demonic in origin. That does not mean a demon is on your child when afraid, but rather demonic undermining of self confidence has caused the natural fear to become un-natural. We want the children to be naturally afraid, for that keeps them alert and perform better. We do not want panic.

The home schooled children rarely have un-natural fear. Their security and self confidence is rooted in their staying home and living with their families. Taking children away from their homes and putting them with strangers in school and coping with all the hostilities that occur in school is the demonic undermining of security in children. Even in Christian schools this is an unnatural removal of children from their families. Add in the divorce rate where families are broken even further, and you have many foot holds for insecurities in children.

I realize that parents have many reasons for placing their children in schools, public or private, but the biblical mandate is clear. Parents are given the responsibility of raising their children, no one else. I am an ardent supporter of home schooling. I love to work with home schooled kids. They learn faster and tend to be more courageous. So, if you have ever considered homeschooling your kids, I encourage you to try it.

Stunt gymnastics is a great home school activity. Christ centered in instruction, it is an athletic activity for home school families, that honors God and his creation of the human body. Students gain all the individual benefits of gymnastics training - courage, self-discipline, perseverance, toughness - as well as the benefits of team trainin - co-operation, forgiveness, doing their job, and so forth.
