The Vision

Stunt Gymnastics is a coed program. As a gymnastic discipline all students train skills
that develop strength and flexibility. The training develops individual characteristics for the
body, soul and spirit:

If you are beautiful on the inside, you will be beautiful on the outside

The Princess and the Goblin

by George MacDonald"

In the story the little princess has just seen the fairy godmother who is working at a spinning wheel

While the princess stared bewildered, with her head just inside the door, the old lady lifted hers, and said, in a sweet, but old and rather shaky voice, which mingled very pleasantly with the continued hum of her wheel: 'Come in, my dear; come in. I am glad to see you.' That the princess was a real princess you might see now quite plainly; for she didn't hang on to the handle of the door, and stare without moving, as I have known some do who ought to have been princesses but were only rather vulgar little girls. She did as she was told, stepped inside the door at once, and shut it gently behind her.

A real princess is obedient.

Later in the story she tells her mother about the fairy godmother, who does not believe her. The princess says to her mother,

' 'Oh, I dare say!' 'Well, you just come up with me, and see if I'm not telling the truth.' 'Indeed I have other work to do. It's your dinnertime, and I won't have any more such nonsense.' The princess wiped her eyes, and her face grew so hot that they were soon quite dry. She sat down to her dinner, but ate next to nothing. Not to be believed does not at all agree with princesses: for a real princess cannot tell a lie.

A real princess is honest.

So all the afternoon she did not speak a word. Only when the nurse spoke to her, she answered her, for a real princess is never rude - even when she does well to be offended.

A real princess is polite.

The Princess and the Pea

The Princess and the Pea

Contrast what George MacDonald has to say about a real princess with the fairy tale of the Princess and the Pea. This girl is so sensitive that she can not go to sleep at night because of a pea under her mattress. Even with many mattresses stacked up she can still feel the pea. This is not an example of godly character. Rather it is an example of someone so self absorbed that the slightest thing irritates her. This is what the world teaches children, and it is wrong.

Princess Diana, and all little girls and boys are royalty

At The Stunt Gym we instill in all the children a sense of true nobility as George MacDonald tried to convey in his story. Everyone who has received Jesus Christ into their heart, is a child of the King, and are in truth, royalty. All people, whether they believe in Jesus or not, are made in the image of God, and have the stamp of royalty on them.

Gymnastics training, is training in elitist behavior. But the Christian royalty is virtuous behavior, and not egocentric snobbery. ASA instills in all their students this sense of virtuous nobility that applies to every endeavor of their lives.
