About
Gina's Gymnastics is owned by head coach Georgina "Gina" Benitez, who started gymnastics in Havana at 4, made the Cuban National Team by 1987 and won more than 150 medals. After moving to the US in 1995 she has coached for 20 years and spent 15 years teaching kindergarten and first grade in Miami-Dade public schools. Bar specialist Ovidio Bermudez, a former Cuban Elite National Team member and Cuban National Circus acrobat, heads the Xcel team.
Classes run from a parent class for ages 2–3 and preschool for 4–5 to girls beginner (6+), intermediate and advanced (7+) classes, and Tumbling & Conditioning (8+). Competitive athletes train in a pre-team, Xcel and the Junior Olympic team, and a homeschool program fits classes around homeschool schedules.
