About
Westmoreland Gymnastics School in Greensburg was founded in 1980 by Ron and Jan Kolman, who ran it until 2005. Bill Altman has been team coach and part owner for 32 years and became sole owner when the Kolmans retired; the school now has more than 350 students and is home to the Highlanders competitive team.
Instruction starts at 12 months in a preschool area with smaller equipment. The main downstairs gym, for ages 6 and up, has a Tumble Trak, a 40x40 spring floor, separate beam and bar areas and in-ground pits. Tumbling classes are aimed at cheerleaders, and private lessons, group cheerleading classes and back handspring clinics are available on request.
